To design and build a gym and wellness amenity that integrates harmoniously with Sweet Honey Farm’s tranquil and rustic surroundings while providing guests with a modern, holistic wellness experience. The facility includes a state-of-the-art gym, handcrafted sauna, and outdoor cold plunge.
Sweet Honey Farm wanted a wellness amenity that matched the natural beauty and serene atmosphere of the farm. The challenge was to incorporate a fitness facility, sauna, and cold plunge in a way that enhanced the farm's peaceful environment without disrupting its aesthetic. The design also needed to offer guests the perfect balance of functionality, luxury, and farm-inspired charm.
We started with the gym, using sustainable materials and custom finishes to blend seamlessly into the farm’s existing structures. Custom-made fitness equipment was designed to reflect the farm’s rustic elegance, with wooden accents and earthy tones to evoke a sense of nature. To create a full wellness experience, the sauna was crafted from locally sourced wood, offering an authentic, eco-friendly heat experience. The outdoor cold plunge was positioned to maximize views of the surrounding countryside, providing guests with a restorative connection to nature.
Throughout the design process, we collaborated closely with the farm’s team to ensure that each element—from the gym equipment to the sauna finishes—was fully customized to reflect the property's branding and design ethos. Special care was taken to ensure the cold plunge was accessible year-round, despite Rhinebeck’s seasonal weather changes.
The completed gym, sauna, and cold plunge offer guests a luxurious yet down-to-earth wellness experience. The gym features bespoke equipment that reflects the natural materials of the farm, while the sauna provides a warm, rejuvenating retreat.
