Create a bespoke wellness space that balances aesthetics and functionality while embodying the laid-back, natural vibe of Venice Beach.
Hume’s ownership wanted a highly customized space that reflected their unique vision. The challenge was to design a gym that offered a luxurious experience for members, blending soft, organic aesthetics with high-performance functionality. The equipment and overall design needed to create a sense of community while being weatherproof for outdoor use on the rooftop, all while maintaining a cohesive design language.
SPX worked closely with Hume’s team to craft and coordinate custom solutions, including half racks, urethane bumper plates, and fixed barbells, all designed to seamlessly integrate Hume’s branding. We also managed the manufacturing of machines and Pilates equipment, ensuring alignment with the club’s aesthetic. For the rooftop, we designed weatherproof equipment that allowed members to train while overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Our team also handled the layout, maximizing the use of indoor-outdoor space while incorporating natural tones and organic design elements to foster a serene wellness environment.
The result is a luxury wellness club offering an inviting and functional space for members, blending custom design with cutting-edge equipment. Whether members are working out, recovering, or simply relaxing, the natural tones and curated elements reflect the calm, coastal environment of Venice Beach.
